My wedding theme is butterflies. Can someone help me with types of flowers I should have and colors??

The colors I have chosen are Pink and Red but I don%26#039;t think they go well with butterflies. The wedding is in June. And I would also like to incorporate the flowers with butterflies as well so a little help on that too. So what types of flowers are butterflies attracked too?

My wedding theme is butterflies. Can someone help me with types of flowers I should have and colors??
Orchids and calla lillies would be a wonderful choice for flowers. You could have the white orchids with the specks of red and pick in the center. (watch the movie 40 days and 40 nights these flowers are on that movie and you wont miss them. They are very light and fluttery. You can look at different ones online just type in orchids in a search engine and it will bring up tones of pictures. Calla lillies are also a good choices. These flowers are very fragrant and will help be a good filler if you choice to use orchids. If you would like to see examples of flower arrangement or bouquet%26#039;s go to www.theknot.com, or www.theweddingchannel.com. As far as the colors go pink is a great color and so is red. I would pick one of them for your main color and us the other to accent with. Like have pink for your bridesmaid dress but then have white orchids and red lillies for your bouquet%26#039;s. Good luck. Those websites i gave you helped me a lot.
Reply:white roses
Reply:I think you should keep it simple since butterflies are never any one color. I think pastel pink and white are good ideas for colors. In the flower ctagory you may want to go with something like tulips, again simplicity is key since you have chosen butterflies as your theme. Hope this helps!
Reply:and your husband to be is ok with that? (butterflies??)
Reply:Butterflies are often attracted to blues and purples, but any bright color should be fine. (Hummingbirds are more associated with red flowers...) This page has a list of favorite butterfly plants, as a starting point for you and your florist

Reply:im getting married in 2 weeks. i know when choose my fall colors, i had a hard time !!! the june wedding sounds so pretty as my g/f is doing a june wedding as well.. i would go to a florist and ask her opinion. they have so so many ideas!!! june flowers are all about color!! mix em up!! the colors you have choosen are fine.... have fun with the planning!!
Reply:It%26#039;s not just a matter of colour to attract butterflies, but what the flowers produce - nectar. See links below for more info.

You don%26#039;t mention if you plan to do a live butterfly release, but I urge you not to do it. Generally 10% of the butterflies arrive dead and I would be mortified as a guest or as a bride to have dead butterflies as part of a wedding. Seems not only cruel, but like a bad omen. Stick to attracting wild ones and using fake ones, and have a great wedding! : )
Reply:the choice of flowers would be yours. I would suggest golden yellow, sapphire blue and white would go great with butterflies.

Reply:I have a friend that is getting married in a few months and her colors are purple, (lavendar) white, and grey..... I am making her flower arrangements and I put butterflies in her center pieces and because she is having it out doors I put some on her tree wrap also. The final decision is yours but I have gotten nothing but great compliments on the center pieces thus far. Good luck and congrates!!!!
Reply:Butterflies are attracted to bright colors. Red and pinks are fine. Use whatever is in season in your colors, and you will keep your costs down. You may even incorporate silk butterflies in your bouquets and centerpieces...... You can order live butterflies to release as you leave the church. They come in boxes, and you open the boxes and they fly off. I have seen it, and it is beautiful. I think you can order them on line.........
